TCA & AHA Peels

Bare Your Beautiful Skin with a Medical Peel

We all want an even skin tone and a complexion that looks fresh, clear, and radiant. For many, this is not something that just happens. Our skin requires proper care, hydration, and the gentle exfoliation that medical peels can provide.

Over time, the outer layer of our skin becomes dull and damaged by the sun, pollution, and the dead skin cells that build up on the surface. An occasional medical peel is a good way to get rid of dead skin cells and sun-damaged skin to reveal fresh, newly radiant skin. We select from a range of peels, each with a high concentration of active ingredients, based on the condition you want to treat. Each peel is supported with a session of LED light therapy to intensify the results.

Medical peels can improve your complexion and also reduce fine lines, treat wrinkles, improve the appearance of scars, treat certain kinds of acne, and fade sun spots and other hyperpigmentation.

What’s the difference between AHA and TCA Peels?

At Lutétia clinic we have several high-quality peels to choose from, depending on what skin condition we are wanting to improve. All of our peels fall into two categories: AHA and TCA.

Our AHA Peels are named according to their primary active ingredient: Alpha Hydroxy Acids. They are natural acids that can enhance the skin’s exfoliating process, removing the top layer of skin, the keratin layer, to reveal the new skin underneath. These peels are more gentle than the TCA peels, so the peeling is more subtle. Your skin is left with a healthy glow.

TCA Peels, on the other hand, are made from trichloroacetic acid and go deeper into the skin than AHA peels. TCA peels are ideal for those with pigmentation issues and deeper acne scars. They tend to make your skin red for a few days and then cause a more noticeable peel of the skin than our AHA peels.

Medical Peel FAQ’s

Contrary to popular belief, peels don’t weaken the skin. Medical Peels dissolve old skin cells and allow the skin to become firmer and have a more even texture. Especially when used on a regular basis.

There is no downtime. You may notice some redness. We recommend you wear sunscreen after the treatment to protect your skin. Sunscreen, in general, is a great way to protect all the heroic work you do to take care of your skin.

For optimal results we recommend 2 – 4 treatments at 2-week intervals.
